Looking for a fresh way to use your hot glue gun? Skip the usual projects and try something chic and unexpected – DIY pearl-look earrings! This simple technique transforms ordinary hot glue into elegant, eye-catching accessories you’ll be proud to wear or gift. Whether you’re a beginner crafter or a seasoned DIYer, this project is quick, budget-friendly, and oh-so-stylish.

AdTech Premiere Glue Sticks

Jewelry Findings: Eye pins & Fish Hooks

Silicone Baking Mat

Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer, Clear

Toothpick

Tweezers

Scissors

Quick dry or tacky glue (optional)

Lay pattern on work surface. Place silicone on top of pattern.

Using pattern as guide, outline with hot glue.

Fill in completely with glue. Let glue cool to harden.

Create the glue dots using patterns as guide. For each earring, you will need 8 circles.

When the circles are cooled. Separate them from mat and remove all strings. Line them up to have them ready for the next step. You will need to have all the pieces ready because you need to work while the 2nd coat of glue is still warm.

Have your tweezers and toothpick ready. Apply second coat of glue to the pattern.

Using the tweezers, pick up each circle and immediately drop them one-by-one into the warm glue. Use toothpick to realign if needed. Let glue cool to harden.

If needed, use your fingers to remove any glue strings and cut edges with scissors to clean up any places where the glue has flowed outside the pattern.

Use cosmetic applicator to rub mica powder over surface of design, paying attention to sides and between circles.

Clip eye pins to ½”. Press into top of earring. If needed, use quick dry or tacky glue to hold in place. Let glue dry.

Use brush-on sealer or use finger to apply sealer topcoat over the mica powder. Let dry.

Attach earring hooks.

NOTE: do not leave your earrings sitting in the direct sun or hot areas, as they will melt because they are hot glue :)
