Work gloves (I purchased mine for $1.97 at Home Depot)
Scissors
Wire (to wrap bottom of glove)
Wood skewer
Tissue paper: white, brown and fall prints
Craft foam: red & orange
Wiggle eye

The work gloves I used for this project were inexpensive woven and rubber coated.

I used the white tissue paper to stuff the fingers and palm of the glue. Keep stuffing until all the fingers and hand are full.

Push skewer up middle of glove.

Secure with wire at wrist area.

Tear tissue paper into small pieces. Working the 4 fingers (feathers) first, use your finger to apply decoupage glue, piece-by-piece onto the fingers and press tissue pieces into the glue. Immediately apply more glue over the tissue. Don’t overwork as the tissue can tear. Keep your finger moist with glue. NOTE: I know that some people prefer to use a brush to apply glue and that works fine too! Use a very soft brush and keep it moist with glue. I have found that the finger method goes much faster! Remember you are covering both front and back of the glove with tissue.

Apply brown tissue to the hand and thumb areas using the same technique. Let glue dry.

Use scissors to cut away excess glove below wire.

Glue wiggle eye in place. Cut and glue beak and wattle in place. Let dry completely.

Use skewer to poke turkey into pumpkin or straw base.

I created several pumpkins and teamed them up with a straw bale, pedestals, paper flowers and a big GIVING THANKS sign in my studio window.
